join us to speak your mind & heart & other parts
Once more into the breach - the Woodstock Center for Awakening's third dialogical gathering - as we continue to explore ways of fostering conversation at the grass-roots level and the questions, "How do we work together for positive change despite our differences? How do we awaken the time we're in?”
This session we will focus on deepening our grounding in and practice of non-violent communication and begin a path to action within our myriad, local concerns, including among others housing, environment, care for undocumented workers, our political decision process, and the changing complexion and demographics of Woodstock's culture.
We start with a talk on the value of dialogue by a local luminary (to be announced). We will then re-introduce the modality of non-violent communication via its most essential components, including further understandings of what we mean by "community resilience." This will flow into break-out groups, where we will seek to arrive at a consensus on specific issues as well as a plan for how we might inflect its resolution in action. Coming together, then, we will impart our findings and build the basis for our next gathering. The evening will conclude with a musical performance by a local artist, to be announced.
We hope we may see you there and, as Sue Wilens would say, "Spread the word!"
